Sediment Sampling
CR Environmental, Inc. provides efficient sediment sampling services tailored to project objectives using vibracores, box cores, push cores, gravity/piston cores, and grab samplers. We specialize in sediment sampling operations in ponds, rivers, harbors, and nearshore coastal waters in water depths up to 80 feet.
.A double bucket Ted Young grab can collect large volumes of surficial sediment, piston push core systems 4–6-ft undisturbed cores in soft sediments, and pneumatic vibracoring systems up to 20-foot cores using 3 to 4-inch diameter core barrels. Our custom-designed vessels for sediment sampling operations include a 26-ft landing craft style vessel, 20-ft pontoon boat, and a modular twin skiff coring platform for shallow waters.
Sampling projects vary in size and complexity from single-day lake bottom characterizations to multi-year confirmatory sampling programs at Superfund sites.
