Sediment Sampling

CR Environmental, Inc. provides efficient sediment sampling services tailored to project objectives using vibracores, box cores, push cores, gravity/piston cores, and grab samplers. We specialize in sediment sampling operations in ponds, rivers, harbors, and nearshore coastal waters in water depths up to 80 feet.

A double bucket Ted Young grab can collect large volumes of surficial sediment, piston push core systems 4–6-ft undisturbed cores in soft sediments, and pneumatic vibracoring systems up to 20-foot cores using 3 to 4-inch diameter core barrels. Our custom-designed vessels for sediment sampling operations include a 26-ft landing craft style vessel, 20-ft pontoon boat, and a modular twin skiff coring platform for shallow waters.

Sampling projects vary in size and complexity from single-day lake bottom characterizations to multi-year confirmatory sampling programs at Superfund sites.
